Lenovo debuts Glasses T1 to give you private big screen experience anywhere

02 September 2022 2

Smart glasses are one product that has fascinated tech experts, brands, and fans alike for a long time. They are supposed to be the next big thing in the AR/VR space but are yet to get anywhere closer to becoming mainstream. The tech companies keep trying their hand at making something that not only appeals to the masses but is also easy on the pocket. Lenovo is the newest player in the market to announce its own offering in the smart glasses segment.

Lenovo has officially debuted the Glasses T1 at the ongoing IFA 2022 event. It is referring to the device as the wearable private display for on-the-go media consumption. It is essentially a second display for your smartphone, tablet, and even desktop. It will deliver an immersive experience where users do not have to restrict themselves to smaller displays of other devices.

These glasses will work with Android, iOS, Windows, and Mac devices. The connection is established with a compatible device with the help of a USB Type-C port (adaptor for iOS). It becomes a second display to the connected device soon after the connectivity is done. It should be noted that these are not your powerful and feature-rich AR glasses like Lenovo's own ThinkReality A3 smart glasses. These are primarily meant for casual usage of work, entertainment, and play.

With Lenovo Glasses T1, you will get two micro-OLED display panels with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution per eye. The refresh rate on these panels is standard 60Hz. These do not have an in-built processor or any of the fancy sensors that you get from an expensive and super-powerful pair of glasses. However, you do get high-fidelity in-built speakers, TUV Low Blue Light, and TUV Flicker Reduced certifications.

The main aim of these glasses is to help you get a cinematic experience of a movie, TV show, or video game from anywhere. All you need to is do connect with a compatible device. Lenovo says Glasses T1 will go on sale starting in late 2022 in China and sometime in 2023 in other markets. These will be known as the Lenovo Yoga Glasses in China. The pricing details will be revealed as and when these will go on sale.
