Lenovo finally joins the other big players at CES 2018, Today the company announces upgraded variants of their ThinkPad X1 series. The new variants of X1 Carbon, X1 Tab, and X1 Yoga are announced at the event. Apart from bringing the latest hardware under the hood, the new variants have premium designs for better visual looks.
The new series is not only powerful but also lighter and thinner than the predecessors. The Intel 8th-Gen processors are powering the laptops. The ThinkPad X1 Yoga and X1 Carbon will be the first PC in the market with Dolby vision HDR1 support, whereas the X1 Tab will also be available in 13-inches variant with 3K screen resolution, it will be an HDR2 compatible device.
Like most of the latest machines, all three ThinkPad X1 series laptops supports Windows facial recognition Hello feature. Apart from Hello support, the company puts the cover on webcam as well for better security. Starting with the X1 Tab
It is the third iteration of ThinkPad X1 tab with redesigned looks. The 2-in-1 machine is now available in 13-inches form factor as well. The Intel 8th gen Core processor is powering the 13-inches X1 tab with 3K screen resolution. Lenovo improved the keyboard experience of this ThinkPad machine. An LTE variant is also available with support for global LTE networks. Now the X1 Tab brings support for natural interaction as well through updated Lenovo Pen Pro which now supports pressure sensitivity of 4096 levels. It will provide battery life for the whole day. It supports Windows Hello feature that's why it has IR camera on board. The Pen Pro won't be shipped with the box instead you have to grab it separately. The new X1 Tab release is pegged for March 2018 at a price tag of $1,599.
The new upgraded X1 Carbon is the 6th gen model from Lenovo. Being a rugged laptop the company claims it can survive in extreme cold and heat weather equally good. Without any doubt with the latest X1 Carbon the company brought beauty and the powerful rugged beast in one package. It is the first laptop in the market which will support Dolby Vision HDR1 display and its maximum brightness is up to 500 nits which are worth appreciating. To bring wake on voice and Amazon Alexa feature the company packed the device with new 360o far-field microphones. Lenovo claims the X1 Carbon chassis is literally unbreakable thanks to special carbon fiber material still it is the lightest commercial laptop available in the market with 14-inches display. As far as pricing is a concern the ThinkPad X1 Carbon will be available at $1709 later this month.
Last but not the least the X1 Yoga's 3rd gen model is introduced. Apart from having the military-grade ruggedness, the machine supports "Rapid Charge" feature which allows the user to charge up to 80% within 60 minutes only. The Intel 8th-gen processor is powering the device and it also supports Dolby Vision HDR 1 display. It also has new 360o far-field microphones to support the Alexa Assistant and Wake on. The X1 Yoga will also be available later this month at a price tag of $1,889
