AdDuplex, a cross-promotion network for Windows Store apps and games has released a new Windows Device statistics report for the month December. Every month, AdDuplex provides a glimpse at which Windows phone devices people are actually using.
December’s report specifically talks about the Windows 10 Mobile and Surface usage data. This report is based on data collected from around 5,000 Windows phone apps running AdDuplex SDK v.2 (and higher).
Microsoft Lumia 640 has replaced the Lumia 535 and clinched the second spot among phones running Windows 10 Mobile worldwide. Lumia 650 and 950 both moved past 640 to occupy the first and second positions on the chart.
Talking about the other Windows 10 Mobile phones, Alcatel Idol 4S has moved 16 to 13, hence a 2.5x share growth. On the other hand, HP Elite x3 has shown a growth but not much, it has now moved from 19 to 18, thus 1.3x share growth. Hence, this month, the Elite X3 doesn’t register at all when you look at overall Windows 10 Mobile usage.
Talking about the PC market, Surface Pro 4 is now the most-used Surface device with 37.4% of all usage. Surface Pro 3 is down to number two with just 27 percent usage share.
Surface Book is the poorest-selling Surface portable PC, behind even Surface Pro 2, Surface Pro. With just 0.1 percent of all Surface usage, Surface Studio doesn’t register. It seems like it will never amount to much extent from a usage/market share perspective since it’s too expensive.
HP is still the number one among PC manufacturers and even getting stronger and has shown 1.5% growth since October. Dell records up to 2.9% since October to displace Lenovo at #2.
Windows Phone 8.1 is still the de-facto standard target platform for Windows on the phone. This month’s AdDuplex report also throws the light on Anniversary Update. According to the report, 87% of the users are using AU or newer build.
