It has been quite a long time since we have been waiting for the Windows 10 Creators Update. It will be the second major update since the arrival of Windows 10 and bring a lot of features and performance improvements. While Microsoft has not shared any official date regarding the release, it is rumored to arrive sometime around April. But if you don't want to wait and would like to try out Windows 10 Creators Update now, here is the how you can do that.
You can get to try out the Windows 10 Creators Update now if you become a Windows Insider, a program for beta testing features and changes before rolling them out to everyone on the planet. Once you have become an Insider, you can choose to install the update either as via OTA system or manually by using an ISO file. So let's have a look at both ways one by one.
Steps to Get Windows 10 Creators Update via OTA:
Step 1: Register for the Windows Insider program. Do make sure that you use the same email account for the program which you are using on your Windows 10 PC.
Step 2: On successful registration, use Win + I shortcut to open Settings app and visit Update & Security section.
Step 3: Click on Windows Insider Program option followed by a click on Get Started section.
Step 4: This will show you a pop-up with a few warnings and details. If you are comfortable with everything, click Next to proceed.
Step 5: You will be asked to reboot your Windows 10 PC which you can choose to do instantly or even later.
Step 6: Once you have rebooted the PC, visit the Settings -> Update & Security -> Windows Insider Program option again.
Step 7: Here you will see the Choose Your Insider Level option with three options: Fast, Slow, and Release Preview.
Step 8: Choose the Fast option which will make you a Fast ring member of the Insider program. It means you will receive Insider preview builds faster. You can also go for the Slow option but it would mean that you will have to wait for a few days to get the latest build.
Once you have become the Fast or Slow ring member, Microsoft will automatically send the Windows 10 Creators Update as Insider Preview build to your PC accordingly.
Steps to Get Windows 10 Creators Update via ISO File:
Step 1: Visit the Microsoft's official Windows 10 ISO file download page and sign in with your Insider Program account.
Step 2: Scroll down the page until you find the Select Edition drop-down menu. From here, choose the appropriate Windows 10 ISO file depending on the edition you have on your PC and download it.
Step 3: After successful download, install it on your PC like you install any other Windows version.
So these are the two ways you can get your hands on Windows 10 Creators Update right now without having to wait for the official release. If you happen to download it, do share your experience with us using the comments section below.
