Today the giant laptop manufacturer HP unveiled their 2017 variants of OMEN lineup. Both the OMEN 15 and OMEN 17 will be released later this month. Both these OMEN devices are packed with the latest powerful hardware and the good thing is it won't have much pressure on your pocket.
HP packed both these machines with the NVIDIA's latest GPU. The OMEN 15 comes with GTX 1060 as GPU whereas the 17-inches variant comes with GTX 1060/1070 GPU. For those who are not satisfied with this latest GPU, they can configure the 15-inches variant with AMD RX 550 whereas the 17-inch variant can support AMD RX580. Both these latest machines will be targeting those gamers who don't want to spend many bucks but want a top notch performance.
Like most of the latest machines, both the OMEN laptops are packed with Intel's latest quad-core I7-7700HQ processor, it can clock up to 3.8GHz on Turbo. The base variant comes with 8GB RAM whereas the top of the line 17-inches variant has 32GB RAM on board. In terms of storage both variant have either 1TB memory or hybrid systems support.
As far as connectivity ports are a concern, it comes with 3 USB Type A ports and the fourth port will be of Type-C. Apart from that, it will have RJ-45 support for fast ethernet and for the HDMI, it is pre-loaded with HDMI 2.0. It is pre-packed with SD Card Reader.
For those who already own the predecessor and want to upgrade but the issue is related to Data, HP is offering buyers they can replace the latest SSD drive with their older machine drive so that up gradation process remain smooth without affecting the data. There are still buyers who use CD/DVDs, HP packed with the 17-inches variant with the Optical drive to facilitate those buyers. The display panel comes with 4K screen resolution. Apart from internal hardware, HP brought few new features as well, let's check out them.
Both devices are featuring anti-ghosting keyboard, the arrow keys are now of full size, Two Bang & Olufsen tuned speakers are introduced. HP also added their special Audio Boost feature. Apple recently upgraded their iMac lineup and paid special attention to the air flow of new machines, same is the case with HP. The company makes sure that even on heavy usage for a long time the device remains cool.
With the new air flow system, the HP OMEN air flow is optimized up to 22% as compared to predecessor whereas the larger variant air flow increased only 3%. However, the 17-inches variant already features one of the best thermal solutions. As far as pricing is a concern, the OMEN 15 base variant with Core i7 processor, 8GB RAM, 1TB native memory and Radeon RX550 as GPU can be purchased for $999 only.
If you opt similar configuration with NVIDIA GPU, it will cost $1029. The top of the line variant of OMEN 15 comes with 16GB RAM, NVIDIA's GeForce 1050Ti GPU and 1TB storage, it can be grabbed for $1599. Now as far as OMEN 17 pricing is a concern its base variant features GTX 1050 GPU with 1TB memory, 8GB RAM and it cost $1099.
The standard variant comes with 12GB RAM, GeForce 1060/1070 GPU, and 1TB memory at a price tag of $1279. Last but not the least we have the top of the line variant with 32GB memory and 2TB internal storage along with 256GB SSD, it can be grabbed for $1799.
