Earlier this year we showed you the leaked images of Surface Mini, the canceled product from Microsoft which Panos Panay described as "like a Moleskine" while confirming the Mini was a real product. Well, Evan Blass - the famous leaker - has posted a new image (above) of the Surface Mini on his Twitter account followed by what the then specification for the product was.
The Surface Mini was reportedly a 7.5-inch device with a 1440 x 1080 display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 1GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage. It appears that Microsoft was planning black, red, and blue variants of the Surface Mini before its cancellation. Microsoft was planning to release Surface Mini along with Surface Pro 3 back in 2014 before killing it just weeks ago the official launch.

The Surface Mini ran on Windows RT and was designed to support the stylus input. The device was codenamed Surface Iris and was essentially meant for note taking for students and professionals. It could have easily become a tablet for kids because of the small size and vibrant colors it would have come in.
However, Microsoft has seen not so good days with its Windows RT devices and it's probably for good Microsoft killed the tablet in time as people are more inclined to purchase phablets as they're only shy of an inch in display size than mini sized tablets and provide much more functionality.
