Xiaomi has now announced the availability of the NFC-enabled variant of its Mi Band 3 wearable. The price of this variant is CNY 199 and it is already up for sale via Xiaomi’s online store. Additionally, the Mi Band 2 would get a special limited period price of CNY 99 between September 19 and September 21 in China on Xiaomi’s online shopping portal.

Xiaomi launched Mi Band 3 back in May in China and together with this, the company also launched the NFC variant of the same. However, the latter wasn’t made available for purchase in the country. But, now it seems the NFC variant is finally going up for sale.
Xiaomi recently posted a video on its Weibo account showcasing the Mi Band 3 NFC version and hinting that the device could soon be available in the market for purchase. And now, Huang Wang, CEO of Huami has reportedly posted on Weibo that Mi Band 3 NFC variant has passed three tests and is almost ready to go on sale.
The NFC support will allow the watch to make contactless payments using the Mi Pay. It also supports City Bus Card payments that work for over 167 cities in China, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Wuhan, Tianjin, Shijiazhuang, Suzhou, Hefei, Xi’an, and Jilin among others.
The Mi Band 3 comes with a 0.78-inch OLED capacitive touchscreen. In addition to offering the viewing messages and call view/reject features, the Mi Band 3 also provides the weather forecast as well as an alarm clock. Some of the other key features include heart rate monitor, daily steps count and sedentary reminder.
Xiaomi Mi Band 3 is water and dust resistance as well and it’s completely waterproof for up to 50 meters. Mi Band 3 comes with an improved battery which the company claims can last for up to 20 days on a single charge.
The NFC Mi Band 3 costs CNY 199 ($31) and it’s expected to on sale by the end of this month. The standard variant of the watch is already up for sale.
