Even though Redmi K30 5G was the main highlight, Redmi also unveiled RedmiBook 13 notebook at the same launch event in China. It is the newest slim and powerful Windows laptop from Redmi. It is essentially a smaller version of the RedmiBook 14 about three months ago and is a Huawei MateBook 13 rival.
The RedmiBook 13 features a 13.3-inch Full HD display with slim bezels that helps it achieve an 89% screen-to-body ratio. It is an anti-glare display with 250 nits of brightness and 178-degree viewing angles. It is powered by 10th generation Intel Core i5 and Core i7 processors coupled with up to 8GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 2GB NVIDIA GeForce MX250 GPU.
It comes with 512GB of SSD storage for storing one's files, documents, software, and games. Redmi has made use of an improved cooling system to keep the temperature under control even during intense usage for a long period of time. It basically has a custom wing fan claimed to offer a 25% increment in air volume and a 2dB reduction in volume level.
It has a 40Wh battery that is said to last for up to 11 hours on a single charge. Other features include two USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports, an HDMI port, Bluetooth 5.0, dual-band WiFi (2.4GHz and 5GHz), and Windows 10 operating system. It also has a chicklet keyboard and support for DTS surround sound.
The RedmiBook 14 is priced at CNY 4,199 (about $597) for the base model with Intel Core i5 chipset, 8GB RAM, and 512GB storage. There are various configuration options with the most expensive one costing CNY 5,199 (about $739) for Intel Core i7, 8GB RAM, and 512GB storage. These new models can be preordered starting today itself but the actual sale will begin December 12th in China.
