After being ignored for years, the Android tablet market is finally getting the much-needed attention from OEMs. We saw Realme unveil Realme Pad and Realme Pad Mini models and the Xiaomi Pad 5 last year. All these tablets are available across different markets including China and India. A new report has emerged claiming that Redmi also has an Android tablet under development.
The report reveals that the tablet will be called the Redmi Pad 5 5G. It means we will get to see a 5G-capable Android tablet from the Chinese company. There are speculations that it will support both SA and NSA 5G bands. The display size is unknown but is reported to have 90Hz refresh rate support. The choice of processor is said to be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 768G.
It is a mid-range chipset that will bring smooth performance and fast 5G connectivity to the tablet. There are no words on the battery capacity but is expected to be supported by 30W fast charging. The software experience is likely to be MIUI PadOS 13, a tweaked version specifically meant for tablets. The rumors also hint at the presence of a quad-speaker setup.
This is pretty much what we know about the alleged Redmi Pad 5 for the time being. The initial rumors suggest it will be an affordable version of the Xiaomi Pad 5. It is said to become available in China as well as in India. We will have to wait and see to know what else it brings to the table.
