Xiaomi has launched a new Android tablet named Pad 5 Pro in China. It was announced alongside the Mix Fold 2 which is the second-generation foldable phone from the company. The tablet itself is a larger variant of the Pad 5 that went official last year. There are a few improvements that we will cover in this launch story.
The Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro sports a 12.4-inch display with WQHD+ (2560 x 1600 pixels) resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. There is Dolby Vision support, DCI-P3 color gamut, 500 nits peak brightness, and 275ppi pixel density. Under the hood, it has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset with Adreno 650 GPU. It has 6GB, 8GB, and 12GB RAM options along with 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB onboard storage.
In the camera department, the tablet has a 50-megapixel rear camera and a single 2-megapixel front shooter. The whole package is powered by a 10,000mAh battery and supports 67W fast charging. It will boot MIUI 13 based on Android 12 out of the box. Other notable features include a USB Type-C port, Bluetooth 5.1, WiFi 6, Dolby Atmos, and stylus support.
Xiaomi has priced the Pad 5 Pro at CNY 2,999 (about $445) for the 6GB/128GB model. It will cost CNY 3,499 (about $520) for the 8GB/256GB model and CNY 4,199 (about $623) for the 12GB/512GB model. The tablet is already available for pre-orders in China. It is available in Forest Green, Silver, and Black color options.
