Xiaomi opens a dedicated account for its VR on Weibo

27 June 2016 0

We don't have many traces that Xiaomi is working on their VR headset. A report came back in January threw light on the fact that Xiaomi is investing in VR and robotics research. CEO of Xiaomi declared that the company will invest a huge amount of money in R&D. There are already many big players in the VR industry and the name of Xiaomi isn't only announced during the Daydream launch. The Chinese company has been already making rounds on the internet for its VR.

We don't really know when would Xiaomi's first Daydream ready smartphone launch in the market but the traces of company's own efforts into the VR industry have started to show their presence.

A dedicated Weibo account for Xiaomi's VR project with the username @XiaomiVR. Xiaomi's GM, Tang Mu, stated that the company will release its VR headset in August. But, there's no information regarding the specifications and the price. We are yet to figure out that if the headset will work for current Xiaomi devices or the company is prepping some other more optimized smartphones.

We are also curious to witness the first Daydream-ready phone from the house of Xiaomi following the rules of Google.
