Xiaomi Mi5 is a smartphone which made a series of speculations with the leaks and rumors prior the official launch. Now after two months of official launch, the flagship made it to the headlines with a surprising price drop. It can be a marketing trick from Xiaomi to boost its sale or it can be a hint of new Mi5S.
Xiaomi Mi5 couldn’t cope with the situations as the phone failed to deliver expected user experience. Even though it features a nice design and some cool features, it misses that WOW factor. As the sales became very lower than expected, Xiaomi announced a price drop of 200 Yuan (approx. $30) from the launch price of 1999 Yuan (approx. $302). So the device is now available for 1799 Yuan (approx. $272). Resellers might not cut the price as the current stock would have been brought at the original price.
There is also a talk relating the latest price cut and the possibility of a new flagship from Xiaomi, the Mi5s. It has been more than a month since rumors about the improved version of the Mi5 started to hear. As per the news, the device will hit the market with a faster processor and an updated camera due later this month. What do you think?
